A BIM model is the conjunction in
a single model of all the systems that participate in the building or facility.
Thus, to create the BIM model we
have the following systems: Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical
and Plumbing (although this classification may vary depending on the standards applied by each
company or each institution and may also house subsystems within the main
systems or join other systems into different classifications according to the
specific needs).
The video presented shows the BIM model created for the building of the Central Plant at Los Angeles
Pierce College and the 4 fundamental systems created. Using a fly-through we
get into the building to check the BIM model, the adequacy of the model created
to the existing reality in the building as well as several examples of some of
the information that the BIM model can provide to the user.
